Questions, answered plainly

Everything people ask before they book

If the answer you need is not here, the form at the bottom of this page reaches Elena directly.

Day sails $75 to $95 per seat · Voyages from $3,400 per cabin

How do I book, and is there a sales call?

Pick a date on the day sails or voyages page and write to us, and you will get a reply with the exact price and what is open. There is no discovery call and no quote request, because every price is already on the site.

What is the deposit?

Half now holds the cabin or the charter, and the balance is due 60 days before departure. Day sails are paid in full when you book because they are small enough that it is simpler.

What happens if the weather turns?

Boats can break and weather moves trips, so here is how we handle it. If the captain calls off a day sail you choose another date or take the money back in full, and on voyages we change the route rather than the week, which is why the itinerary says the route shifts with the weather.

What if the boat has a mechanical problem?

If a repair costs you sailing days we refund those days at the daily rate, and if it cancels the voyage outright you get the whole amount back. We say this plainly because it has happened once and it will happen again.

Can I book as a solo traveler?

Yes, and roughly half of every crew does. There is no single supplement, your cabin is your own room with a door, and we never put you in a berth with someone you have not agreed to share with.

What should I pack?

Soft luggage only since there is nowhere to store a hard case, plus deck shoes or bare feet, a layer for the evening, sunscreen and a hat. Bed linen and towels are aboard.

Are children welcome?

Children eight and older are welcome on day sails and on private charters, and voyages are adults only. Pets cannot come aboard, with the exception of a working service dog arranged in advance.

Do I need any sailing experience?

None at all. Most guests have never sailed, and Elena will hand you the helm on day two if you want it and leave you alone with a book if you do not.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel a voyage more than 90 days out and the deposit moves to another departure within the next two seasons, and inside 90 days it is held unless we can fill the cabin, in which case it moves too. Day sails cancel free up to 48 hours before.

Is anything else going to be added to the price?

Nothing from us. On voyages you should still budget for flights, meals ashore of roughly $300 to $600 for the week, drinks and travel insurance, which we ask every guest to carry.
